An automated teller machine or automatic teller machine (ATM), is a computerized telecommunications device that provides bank clients with access to financial transactions from a public space without the need to visit the bank’s account branch. 

There are several advantages of using ATM, few are listed below- 
 You can withdraw cash 24 x 7 x 365 hours from anywhere. So need not to worry about Banks working time / Holidays. 
 ATMs offer the convenience of multiple locations. 
 Your ATM card is protected by a Secure PIN, keeping your money safe. 
 You don’t need to fill out withdrawal and deposit slips to withdraw cash as is required at the bank. 
 ATMs are faster than going to the bank - no long lines, or wasting time while withdrawing money. 

Though ATM has various advantages but it can also become a problem if you aren’t aware of the risks associated with it. Below are few tips which can be followed while using ATMs.

Power of ATM Card and Security Tips Be alert and conscious of your surroundings when using the Debit / ATM Card. 
 Do not insert or swipe your card until asked to do so on AMT Machine's screen. 
 Never use an ATM with a blank screen, or some random code written on it. (Referred as Not proper functioning ATM) 
 Stand close to the ATM and use your body and hand as a shield to make sure nobody sees you keying in your pin. 
 Also, make sure that you cover the card slot so that  nobody can swap / access or take your card. 
 Never accept help from strangers when using an ATM. You should be wary of strangers asking for help. 
 If your card is eaten by the ATM its advisable to contact your Bank immediately to block/stop card. Majorly, All Bank helplines are Toll Free. 
 Never allow a stranger to call on Bank Helpline (toll-free) to block card on your behalf. 
 It is advisable to set your daily ATM withdrawal (or Transaction) limit at your branch. You will get if you will read near or try to cross that limit. 
 Make sure you keep your last transaction receipt. Do not throw the receipt away at the ATM site. Immediately report bank if your lost ATM card or it get stolen.
